Happy New Year! My 2012 Resolutions!

Happy New Year!!!!! I wish you all a wonderful new year filled with love, happiness, adventure, family, health, knowledge, and success! I wanted to share my resolutions with you for the sake of sharing (let me know what your 2012 resolutions are?) and so I can glance back at this post throughout the year! I always make a huge list of resolutions which I never end up sticking to, so this year I decided to make a short list of things I truly want to accomplish and that are achievable!

Resolution 1: Exercise and eat healthy on a regular basis! For the past 4 months I have been jogging and doing my Jillian Michaels exercise DVDs. In 2012 I want to keep up and build upon my routine, try new types of exercise, and to eat healthy 90% of the time!

Resolution 2: Upload and Blog more! My dream is for my YT channel and blog to grow and become successful. I want to put out amazing videos and blog posts for you guys to enjoy consistently throughout the entire year ( and hopefully 2013 etc...)

Resolution 3: No Regrets: I want to live life without regretting my decisions, looking back at the past, and worrying about the future. I want to live life to the fullest without no regrets, I want to put myself out in the world without worrying about what others think of me, to be confident, to be my own person, and to be happy with myself at the end of the day! I want to live by one of my favorite quotes: " Dream as if you have forever, Live as if you only have today!"

I would love it if you guys can share your 2012 resolutions with me!

Have a happy & safe New Years! 2012 is our year =)

Thanks for being great & I'll see you next year!

8 Hair Myths - Debunked!

Hey Guys, so I came across this interesting article a few days back and thought I would share it with you! It discusses and explains 8 hair "myths". It was funny to read because I always believed and to some extent I still do (old habits die hard!) most of these "myths". I feel as if most people believe in hair facts such as "cutting will make it grow faster" and to "change up your shampoo and conditioner to get great results" because everyone claims (word pressure?) that it's the truth without any scientific proof.

Read the article:
& let me know what you think of these hair myths! + how many did you believe? & if your views changed after reading this article!

I believed that:
-Using Olive Oil to deep condition my hair.
-To change up your shampoo and conditioner to get great results.
-Cutting your hair will make it grow faster.
-You can't dye your hair when pregnant.
-Nothing will change the natural texture of your hair.

To some extent my views have not changed after reading this article, it's great to read different opinions, but these "beauty hair rules" are in a way ingrained in me after hearing them so many times and believing them!

Nailed It! Orly Rage

Orly's Rage is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite nail polish colors! This lovely metallic rose gold shade looks stunning on the nails, and works year round. I feel as if it instantly adds glamour to my look, the finish is wonderful (the formula is a dream to work with), and the shade is neutral but grabs your attention. Fave Fall & Winter Nail Polish!

Hello Lovelies! Today I'm going to share my favorite fall and winter nail polishes! I am a nail polish addict, and I love changing things up but I have a few true favorites!

OPI Lincoln Park At Midnight!
A gorgeous deep plum with subtle shimmer, looks stunning on the nails! I can't get enough of this shade, and will love it for years to come! This shade is my definition of a perfect Fall color!

OPI Glove You So Much!
A perfect holiday shade! This deep red with subtle shimmer looks gorgeous and sexy on the nails! This is a perfect color to try if you love to wear classic reds but want something more festive!

Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear (Concrete)!
A beautiful purple-y grey shade is the shade I reach for when I don't want dark nails but something cold weather approved! This polish is in the same color family as Sephora by OPI MetroChic, OPI You don't Know Jacques, & Chanel Particuliere.
Essie Mint Candy Apple!
An unexpected color to throw into the mix, but I absolutely adore it! It may seem like a warmer season polish, and I wear it all year round, however I love it so much more during this time of year! I love this shade! It's a breath of fresh air =)

Orly Rage!
I only got this shade at the end of summer but I am heads over heels in love with it! Actually wearing it right now while I'm writing this blog =) It adds the perfect amount of glam to any look and is a perfect holiday party shade! I love the refined shimmer throughout the polish, and the rose gold color is divine!

I'm not saying I don't wear any other shade of polish during the Fall and Winter but these are my true loves!

Let me know what your Fave Winter & Fall Polishes are!

Urban Decay just released the NAKED 2 palette! Being a lover of the original NAKED, I was excited to see the second edition. The NAKED 2 has 12 eye-shadows (3 being matte), I am happy they included a matte white highlight and black shade since they are so versatile and basic. NAKED 2 shadows are more taupe-y (Greige) and on the cool side, while the original NAKED has more warm, bronze-y shades (If you need to pick between the two, decide which undertones work best with your complexion.) I love the new packaging! The palette is a gold metal snap case (reminds me of a pencil case I used to have), with NAKED 2 embossed on the front. Once open it has a great large mirror (perfect for traveling) the shadows and a brush. The original NAKED comes with a double sided eyeliner (that was later switched to a shader brush) and a mini Primer Potion. I am happy to say that NAKED 2 comes with a double sided brush (a shader and a blending brush) + a mini lip-gloss (so happy they did not include the primer potion this time since I have a full + mini size!) The NAKED 2 is the perfect traveling companion (Shadows? (Check!) Brush? (Check!) Lip-Gloss? (Check!)) My only disappointment is the fact that one shade (half-baked) is duplicated and found in both palettes. If you love neutral shadows the NAKED palettes are perfect for you, the colors are amazing & the quality is top-notch! NAKED 2 retails for $50 (a great price since your getting 12 full sized shadows that normally cost $17 each) & just like I expected it's selling out like hot cakes! 5,000 palettes were In-Stock when Urban Decay launched it on their website and less than 10 hours later it's sold out =( If your interested in NAKED 2 grab it ASAP! The holidays are upon us and I know this would make a perfect present! NAKED 2 is definitely going on my wish list!

Coffee+Beauty! Unusual Uses for Coffee!

When I think of coffee, beverage & great body exfoliator come to mind. Until coming across this article I never knew how useful coffee can actually be! Here are my favorite's:

1. Reduce Cellulite! "Pricey cellulite creams almost always have one major ingredient in common: caffeine, which supposedly enhances fat metabolism, reducing the appearance of these fatty pockets under the skin. To make your own coffee cellulite treatment at home, mix warm used coffee grounds with coconut oil and rub it onto your skin in circular motions for a few minutes before rinsing."

2. Get Shiny Hair! "Who doesn't want shiny, healthy-looking hair? Coffee is often recommended as a simple, natural treatment to make hair extra-glossy. Brew up an extra strong pot, let it cool and apply it to your dry, clean hair. Leave it on for at least twenty minutes, then rise. Keep it up once a week or so for best results."

3. Natural Dye! "The natural pigments in coffee make it a great natural dye for fabric, paper, Easter eggs - even your hair. Brush paper with strong brew and let it dry, or soak fabric items in hot coffee. The results won't be color-fast, and may bleed out onto other items, so it's best to use this on items that won't be washed very often if at all. Using coffee as a hair shine treatment, as previously mentioned, may temporarily lend a rich, dark tint to your hair."

4. Exfoliate Skin! The same properties that reportedly enable coffee to reduce the appearance of cellulite can smooth and tighten your skin, and the texture of ground coffee will buff away dead skin cells, too. Make your own coffee-based scrub by combining a tablespoon of coffee grounds with half a tablespoon of olive oil and, optionally, a drop of your favorite essential oil."

5. Pretty Vase Fillers! "Stale or dirty coffee beans are still a thing of beauty. Use them as vase fillers, or in cups or jars full of pens and pencils. Not only are they pretty, they continue to smell good for quite a while, too."

I will definitely be trying some of these out! What do you think of these coffee uses? Which is your favorite?

My Winter Beauty Survival Guide!

Winter can be very harsh on your lips and skin. These are the products I love using, especially during the colder months.

Nivea A Kiss of Moisture!
This is my all time favorite chap-stick! I love everything about it, the scent is pleasant, the packaging is non fuss, and most importantly this moisturize's my lips like no other. After applying my lips are smooth, soft, and moisturized to perfection.

Soap and Glory Righteous Body Butter!
This is a recent discovery of mine but it quickly became a favorite and a staple in my routine. I love it when my skin feels moisturized and soft but I hate when it feels greasy and thick. This butter sinks right it, moisturizes amazingly, leaves my body smelling like Miss Dior Cherie and feeling velvety soft. It's perfect for the winter months.

Carmex Healing Cream!
Another recent discovery of mine, Carmex Healing Cream works wonderfully! Like I mentioned before I hate it when creams leave behind a greasy residue especially on hands since it makes doing anything after, a challenge and a pain. Carmex is the perfect hand cream, it's much thicker than a lotion so it's great for the colder weather, it leaves my hands perfectly moisturized, and it absorbs nicely.

What are your favorite Winter/colder weather beauty items that keep dry, flaky skin at bay?

Nailed It! Midnight Blue

This week I'm loving navy blue nails! Total opposite from my last Nailed It post. I adore dark nails especially in the fall and winter, I feel as if they complete my layered and bundled look. I love the contrast of the color against my skin and the rocker chic vibe that my nails exude. I am wearing Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro nail polish in the shade Midnight Blue. The formulation is opaque and creamy, the brush is huge making the application easy, the navy color is gorgeous but the subtle hint of blue shimmer makes it perfect!

What is your favorite fall nail polish?

NYC Black Friday Madness!

Hey Guys! Today was Black Friday and like many of you I took advantage of some amazing deals. I set my alarm clock for 4:00 am so I could start shopping ASAP (that's the earliest I'm willing to shop), and let's just say I am not a morning person so It wasn't easy waking up in the middle of the night but worth it in the end. My BFF Joanna and I met up at 34th St. Herald Square. The first place we went to was Macy's, no deals caught our attention so we moved on to 24th St. (5th Ave) I think this is the perfect spot to go shopping because the crowds are almost none existent (since everyone seems to go to the more popular shopping areas,) but it still has all the stores we were interested in which was perfect! We went to Gap, Express, H&M, Banana Republic, Zara, and Ann Taylor. Soon we found ourselves at 14th St. Union Square were we checked out American Eagle, and Sephora. I adore SoHo so it was the perfect area to end our Black Friday shopping extravaganza! We went to Urban Outfitters, TopShop, Forever21, Rite Aid, Bloomingdale's, Sabon, DKNY, and Pandora. My goal for Black Friday this year was to show restraint and not to go overboard! I set a budget and resisted buying things just because they were marked down. If I didn't love it, I didn't buy it, and I stuck by it!

Deals I took advantage of:

-GAP! Everything in the store was either 20%, 40%, or 60% off! It wasn't as amazing like last year's everything 50% off, but it was a great sale nonetheless.

-BANANA REPUBLIC! Everything in the store was 40% off! Amazing! I shopped the sale section and ended up with some amazing deals and finds!

-SEPHORA! The makeup emporium had a limited Black Friday sale. Only 10 selected products were marked down to $10 each. Even with the small variety I ended up with a fun purchase.

-AMERICAN EAGLE! I love AE, I have been shopping there for years so I was excited that everything was 40% off! A huge improvement to last year's 15% off! I was able to pick up a few great pieces and lots of basics.

-RITE AID! Now this was not a Black Friday promotion but I had to mention this rare but incredible sale. The Rite Aid in SoHo is closing out so everything left was 90% off, 90%!!! Even though 3/4ths of the store was sold out I managed to get $150 worth of products for $15!! I was stoked!

It's funny because I have been saving for Black Friday for a the longest time and I was expecting to end up with so many more things. I didn't get carried away this year but I walked away with things that I loved and needed.

Happy Thanksgiving! + Macy's 85th Annual Thanksgiving Parade!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all are healthy, happy, and enjoying a delicious turkey/meal with your family and loved ones =) I wish you all the best not only on Thanksgiving but throughout the coming year!

This year I finally went to see the Macy's (85th Annual) Thanksgiving Parade Live!! It's funny since I lived in NYC for 12 years I always watched it on TV. It was a fun experience seeing all the performances, floats, and balloons in person. It was very crowded and chaotic but that's expected since NY doesn't do anything small. Let me know if you saw the parade this year and what your favorite float/balloon was! I really liked the smurf balloon, and the Santa Clause float.

Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Thanksgiving =)

Hey guys, so I came across a few great DIY Holiday Gift Ideas. These are super cute and easy to make plus they don't cost a fortune to make! These are perfect to give out to all your friends and family =)

How cute is this! You only need candy canes, peppermint candy, and a red box. I can't wait to give these out to my friends!

I love this idea! It's adorable! To make these you need Hershey Kisses, self adhesive googly eyes, pink felt, fishing line, ribbon, double sided tape, and scissors. Make a bunch of these cute mice to spread the holiday spirit!
