Color-Block you Nails for Spring: 10 Easy Nail Designs!

3.25.2012

Hello Lovelies! I don't know about you but Color-Blocking is one of my favorite trends for spring and summer! I love pairing two or more bold colors together to get a unique and interesting look =) Its fun to play around with different colors because sometimes the unexpected pairings turn out genius! My favorite color pairing of all time is Turquoise & Coral!!! I adore the way these two colors look together =) What are your favorite color combos? Color Blocking is a huge fashion trend but I thought it would be awesome to incorporate it into nail designs as well! This is where today's blog post & video (linked below) come into play. I filmed a tutorial featuring 10 super simple nail designs that anyone (artistic or not) can re-create with any colors that they wish! I hope this inspires you to play around with color and the designs this spring and summer!

The Nail Designs & the Colors I Used:
0. Accent Nail: I love accent nails (it's usually the ring finger), they are the most simplest but still have an impact!
- accent nail: Sally Hansen (Coral Reef), all others: Essie (Turquoise & Caicos)
1.Classic French with a Twist: Pair 2 fun colors together instead of the usual pink and white!
-background: Essie (Turquoise & Caicos), tip: Sally Hansen (Coral Reef)
2.Simply Diagonal: 2 colors split diagonally across the nail.
-upper half: Essie (Turquoise & Caicos), lower half: Sally Hansen (Coral Reef)
3.Checkerboard: 4 square made to look like a checkerboard, so cute!
-Essie (Turquoise & Caicos), Sally Hansen (Coral Reef)
4.Polka Dots: Fun and playful design!
-background: Sally Hansen (Sun Kissed), polka dots: Sally Hansen (Pacific Blue)
5.Geometric: Structured but fun with a touch of sparkle (1 of my faves)
-background: Revlon (Dreamer), geometric design: Brucci (Roberta's Green Garden), outline: Sally Hansen (Pacific Blue)
6.Clouds: An interesting & girly design perfect for dreamers!
-background: Rimmel London (Pink Pop) upper clouds: Zoya (Malia), lower clouds: Essie (Mint Candy Apple)
7. Runway: A bold stripe down the middle of the nail makes a great pop of color.
-background: Essie (Topless & Barefoot), stripe: Rimmel London (Pink Pop)
8.Half Moon: Looks stunning but so easy to create!
-moon color: Jessie's Girl (All Things Girly), rest of the nail: Zoya (Malia)
9.Half & Half: 2 equal sections of color, 1 stripe down the middle.
-right half: Essie (Turquoise & Caicos) left half: Sally Hansen (Coral Reef), stripe: Sally Hansen (Pacific Blue)
10. Double Triangle: 2 triangles staked on top of each other create a edgy & unique look.
-background: Sally Hansen (Coral Reef), 1st Triangle: Essie (Turquoise & Caicos), 2nd Triangle: Zoya (Malia)
